In an updated statement, the government says vaccination certificates are not needed for children. For example, travelers from 5 to 12, it will be necessary to present a negative result of the PCR test for coronavirus, andChildren under 5 years of age are exempt from this obligation.
It also clarifies that children traveling to the country must be accompanied by an adult holding a recognized vaccination certificate.
Unvaccinated travelers arriving from countries on the amber list, including the EU, must be quarantined. Malta’s amber list includes the UK and EU countries.
Persons who are medically unable to receive the vaccine and persons between the ages of five and eleven are not required to have a vaccination certificate upon arrival in Malta from any of the listed countries. They should have a negative PCR test for coronavirus.
It is also reported that persons residing in Malta and awaiting return to Malta from the listed countries will not be required to present a vaccine certificate if they have a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival.
All these rules will come into force on July 14th.
