The government will completely close language schools from next Wednesday.
The Republic of Malta is the first country in the European Union to allow only people fully vaccinated against covid-19 to enter the country. The measure will apply from 14 July. The verdict of the Maltese government was confirmed today by Kristýna Gottwaldová, representative of the Malta Tourism Authority in the Czech Republic.
„We are the first country in Europe to take this step, “ said Health Secretary Chris Fearne about closing the border to the unvaccinated. “In recent days, most of the new cases have been related to travel – they were people who came from abroad or Maltese who traveled abroad and returned. Most of them were unvaccinated tourists, “ added the Minister.
Due to the increase in the number of diseases, the government decided to close all language schools. Malta, where English is the official language, is a popular destination for teaching.
Children from 5 to 11 years of age must prove by a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours and at the same time they must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians who can prove themselves with a recognized vaccination card. Children under the age of 5 traveling with fully vaccinated parents or legal guardians do not need to submit a negative PCR test. Unaccompanied minors cannot travel to Malta.
CSA currently flies from the Czech Republic to Malta once a week and Air Malta twice a week.
