Internet TV Mall.TV has shut down its applications for smart TVs. She announced this in an email to users. The applications will be deactivated within a few days at the latest, they did not work on some platforms on Monday. As a replacement, Mall.TV recommends using a mobile app and then mirroring the content being played on a TV screen.
“We decided to end the Mall.TV TV application because the constant development of new versions of TV operating systems from various brands (LG, Samsung, Android, Apple and others) requires a continuous investment in development capacity in the tens of thousands of crowns per month to maintain functionality. Even though we spent them for a long time, the result (functionality of the applications) was still unsatisfactory, “explained the chief producer of Mall.TV Lukáš Záhoř when asked by Digizone.cz.
According to the chief producer, the termination of projects that have not been published for a long time is not pleasant, but on the other hand, the share of television applications in the overall viewership was low. It ranged between two and three percent.
„So I believe that this decision will affect the minimum number of users and that most will ultimately appreciate that saving time and money will allow us to focus on further creating our shows and series and distributing them where people are used to watching us. In addition, it can be on YouTube. It already serves as another distribution channel for Luďek Staňek’s Events and Mikýř’s amazing pilgrimage to the Internet, to which other regulars and news from our production will be added, ”explains Záhoř.
In addition to YouTube, Mall.TV programs are also available through the Stream.cz application.
