The Sudanese army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, who presides over the Sovereignty Council, issued a constitutional decree dismissing his opponent, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, from his position as deputy head of the Sovereignty Council, about 5 weeks after the outbreak of war between them.

In a brief statement, Al-Burhan announced the “exemption” of Daglo from his position as Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, according to a constitutional decree, and issued another decree appointing Agar, the leader of one of the wings of the Sudan Liberation Movement (North), as Vice-Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, noting that he was a member of the Council.

The battles have been continuing in Sudan between the army forces and the Rapid Support Forces since April 15, and have so far claimed about a thousand lives, also led to the displacement and refuge of about one million Sudanese, and made 25 million people, or about half of the population, in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the United Nations.
