On the sidelines of the 77th ordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, met his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, in New York, according to the Malian Prime Minister.
Various issues were discussed during this meeting, including strengthening bilateral cooperation, including political and security issues in Mali, as well as other issues of common interest.
The head of Russian diplomacy reiterated the constant and unwavering support of the government of the Russian Federation to the authorities and the Malian people in view of a successful transition, crowned by the return to peaceful and secure constitutional order.
