Małgorzata Ostrowska is dead. The former MP and deputy minister was 66 years old

Małgorzata Ostrowska, a long-time member of parliament for the Democratic Left Alliance and a member of the government in 2002-2003 and 2005, has died. Information about her death was provided by the City Hall in Malbork.

As reported on its website and social media by the Malbork city council, Małgorzata Ostrowska died on August 8. She was 66 years old.

The Malbork City Office recalled that after graduating, Ostrowska worked as a Polish language teacher at Primary School No. 1 in Malbork, and in the years 1987-1992 she was the commander of the troop in the Polish Scouting Association in Malbork. From 1987 to 1989 she was a member of the Malbork City National Council.

“In the years 1993-2007 she held a mandate as a member of parliament on behalf of the Democratic Left Alliance for the Sejm of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th term. From 27 March 2002 to 14 January 2003 she served as Secretary of State in the Ministry of the State Treasury, and from 28 April 2005 to 4 November 2005 as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy and Labour,” the Malbork city office reported.

The Magistrate recalled that in 2010 she was elected to the Pomeranian regional assembly, and in the years 2018-2024 she sat on the Malbork district council. Since 2015 she has been the president of the Malbork Social Housing Association.

The Malbork City Hall announced that the funeral of Małgorzata Ostrowska will take place on Tuesday, August 13.

“The urn will be placed in the chapel at the municipal cemetery in Malbork at 11:30 a.m. Secular funeral ceremony at 12:00 p.m.,” the office reported.
