Manowska on the investigation into the State Tribunal: I will appear at the prosecutor’s office only as a witness
Małgorzata Manowska argued on TVN24 that she was right.
– The Rules of the State Tribunal contain a special provision that only the chairman of the State Tribunal may submit this issue for discussion. In addition, the applicants did not comply with the basic principle of legislative technique, they did not justify their project, which was brought to my attention by other members of the State Tribunal. I set a deadline for correcting this deficiency, so as not to waste time and to know what we are supposed to discuss and why such changes are being proposed. To date, the justification has not been received – said Manowska.
She stated that the judges of the Supreme Court refer to the general provision of the Supreme Court regulations, and she indicated a specific provision. In response to the fact that this cannot be checked because the content of the regulations is not available on the Supreme Court website, the First President of the Supreme Court said that if there are any problems, one phone call to the Supreme Court services would be enough.
Małgorzata Manowska also said that she had not received any information from the prosecutor’s office that any proceedings were being conducted against her. “I’ve heard that I have four, but I don’t know about any of them formally,” she said. She declared that if she “is invited as a witness” to the hearing, she will appear.

1st President of the Supreme Court: Any verification would be breaking the judges’ spines
The First President of the Supreme Court also referred to Friday’s meeting of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar with representatives of the legal community. Let us recall that it led to agreements regarding the fate of neo-judges, i.e. people who were appointed as judges or promoted after 2018 at the request of the National Council of the Judiciary, which was formed in violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. When asked whether she would submit to a possible verification procedure as one of such people, Małgorzata Manowska replied that she would “absolutely not”. In her opinion, any verification would be breaking people’s spines and a mechanism that “will already be a standard used in future governments”.
