Malcom Braida broke down in tears during the match due to an injury and was consoled by the referee

An image that hurt everyone occurred on Tuesday night at the Libertadores de América, in the match in which Vélez eliminated San Lorenzo in the Argentine Cup. Cordoba native Malcom Braida ended up crying in the first half of the match due to severe pain in his knee.

First, Braida had a very strong clash with Francisco Pizzini in the 28th minute, who was only given a yellow card, and then the San Lorenzo full-back left the match: despite the attempts, he continued to be in a lot of pain and at the end of the first half he burst into tears. Both his knee and his right ankle suffered a kind of sprain and that is where the injury occurred.

The image of the Cordoba native moved everyone. In fact, referee Fernando Rapallini went to console him, and his teammates and several Vélez players also joined in. When the players returned to play the second half, Braida was no longer there: he stayed on the bench with ice on his knee and was replaced by the kid Elías Báez.

Apparently the injury would be just a sprained knee beyond the trauma to the ankle and would not require much recovery time for a footballer who is considered fundamental in San Lorenzo.
