Malaysian Singer Aina Abdul Spends RM85,000 on Outfit, Ready for Outstanding Performance by AJL37

Malaysian singer Aina Abdul was the biggest winner of the Anugerah Champion Lagu 37 (AJL37) held at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (February 12).

Aina, who composed and performed the song continue to live, won the top prize, winning the 30-year-old RM100,000 and a trophy.

The powerhouse singer also walked away with the best vocals award of RM12,000 and a trophy.

“Thanks to my mother who watches (this show) at home. Thanks to my fan club. You made it all possible… you made me strive to compose my own song,” Aina, whose real name is Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani, said as she accepted her awards.

Aina revealed that the production for her outstanding performance at AJL37 – from outfit to stage – was nearly RM85,000.

“Yes, it’s true, I spent a lot on my dress, the set and everything you saw on stage. At this point in my career, I want to present something worthwhile. So I know it’s quite an investment,” Aina, 30, told mStar, The starMalay language portal.

Aina added that she brought 30 team members to help her at AJL37.

Looks like his investment paid off as Aina’s transport for the night came to RM112,000.

Aina said her all-white outfit and ethereal ensemble were inspired by clouds.

“In 2022, I traveled a lot (for work). And if I was traveling by plane, I usually sat by the window and took lots of cloud photos with my phone. So it was from those photos that I got the idea for this cloud-themed performance,” Aina said, adding that she dedicated her performance in AJL37 to her late father who passed away at the 15 years old.
