Malaysian police confiscated 1,069 cryptocurrency miners and destroyed them with a road roller

There are a lot of problems with cryptocurrencies. They are illegal in many countries, but this may not be the only problem. It is often also the theft of electricity to make mining pay off faster. And this is exactly what happened in Malaysia, where the police confiscated 1,069 mining machines worth more than CZK 27 million during six different raids between February and April.

High energy consumption caused problems with electricity here, and miners stole electricity here for CZK 43 million. A total of 8 people were arrested who could face 8 months in prison for stealing electricity and a fine of about CZK 40,000. But the interesting thing is how they dealt with the confiscated miners. They spread them out in the parking lot and drove them off with a road roller. At least that’s what the local Dayak Daily news claims, which also posted a video on YouTube.
