PUTRAJAYA, KOMPAS.com – Police Malaysia stated, they arrested a man who intended to kill the former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad |.
Assistant Director of the Special Branch for Anti-terrorism (E8) Azman Omar explained that the suspected perpetrator was arrested in January 2020.

Local media Astro Awani reported, the alleged perpetrator admitted planning to attack Mahathir Mohamad.
Not only Dr M, nicknamed Mahathir, he also planned to assassinate a number of ministers from the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
Including, former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, former minister Datuk Seri Mujahid, and former Attorney General Tan Sri Tommy Thomas.
The suspected suspect is believed to be acting alone, and is part of a terrorist network affiliated with the group ISIS.
Azman explained that in total they arrested six people on January 6-7, 2020 for making ISIS propaganda and making death threats.
“During their interrogation, they revealed that they planned to kill the leaders by stabbing as a form of support for ISIS,” said Azman.

They arrested the figure for providing financial assistance, and were about to go to Syria to join ISIS.
