Prime Minister Malaysia Muhyiddin Yassin had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering from diarrhea on Wednesday (30/6).
The Malaysian PM’s office said that Muhyiddin started experiencing this condition on Tuesday (29/6) night.
Reported Reuters, Muhyiddin was treated at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur the next day.
Muhyiddin’s office did not provide further details regarding the prime minister’s condition.
Muhyiddin took office as Malaysia’s PM in March 2020 after his predecessor, PM Mahathir Mohamad resigned.
In 2018, Muhyiddin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and frequently received treatment at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
The 74-year-old man was declared cancer-free last June, but he still regularly visits the hospital for treatment.
Born on 15 May 1947, Muhyiddin served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2009 to 2015.
Muhyiddin turned out to have Bugis and Javanese ancestry from his mother, Hj. Khadija. While his father, Haji Muhammad Yassin, was a scholar.
