Shaari Hasan (60) was arrested in late July 2021 after a female goat owner said he heard his pet making abnormal noises behind his house in Rawang, about 18 miles northwest of Kuala Lumpur.

Hasan, who denies the sickening accusations, appeared in a Kuala Kubu Bharu court last Thursday on charges of having sex with an animal.
To quote a report from Free Malaysia Today, Saturday (27/11/2021), Hasan faces a sentence of 20 years in prison, as well as a fine and whipping, if convicted.
A prosecutor argued that Hasan, a widower, should be held without bail. His lawyer asked that the man be released ahead of his trial.
A judge finally agreed with prosecutors, refusing bail for Hasan before his next trial in late December 2021.
Other reports from Malay Mail said Hasan appeared in court wearing a colorful floral shirt when he pleaded not guilty. He denied wearing the green T-shirt and brown pants that were allegedly confiscated from him during his arrest.
Police found the dead goat in Rawang after its owner, one of Hasan’s neighbours, spotted a man he knew half naked next to the animal in the goat pen. He then called the police as the suspect, later identified as Hasan, fled the scene.
The goat carcass was then sent to the vet for a necropsy.
