Trainer Malaysia Kim Pangon not happy with the program in AFF Cup 2022. The busy schedule affected the Malaysian players’ fitness recovery.
In this edition, the AFF Cup tournament returns to using the home and away format implemented in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2020, the tournament uses a single host format (Singapore) due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Malaysia are in Group B AFF Cup 2022 with Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and Laos. In the first match, the Malaysian Tigers only narrowly won 1-0 at the Myanmar headquarters on December 21st.
Malaysia has little time to prepare for the next match. Pan-gon will lead his troops when he hosts the weak Lao team at Bukit Jalil tonight (12/24/2022).
