KOMPAS.com – Authorities Malaysia warned of a new wave of coronavirus after two consecutive days of reporting the highest cases of infection since early June 2020.
The report came after the general election ( Election) in Malaysia’s second largest state, Sabah.
On Friday (2/10/2020), Malaysia reported 287 new cases, higher than the previous day, Thursday (1/10/2020) with 260 cases.

Quoted from Reuters, Thursday (1/10/2020), Director General of Health Noor Hisham Abdullah said the increase in cases could be seen as the start of a new wave.
He urged the public to continue to pay attention to health protocols by keeping their distance and not leaving the house unless necessary.
So far, Malaysia has reported 11,771 cases of infection with 136 deaths and 10,095 patients declared cured.

A spike in new cases
This surge in new cases is said to be closely related to the movement of thousands of people returning home Sabah to participate in election on Saturday (26/9/2020).
