TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Malaysia reported 13,034 new cases of the corona virus (Covid-19) on Thursday (22/7/2021).
The figure is the second-highest daily addition of cases since the start of the pandemic.
Quoted from CNA, more than half of the additional cases came from the Klang Valley area with 6,049 cases in Selangor and 1,611 cases in Kuala Lumpur.
There were also 711 cases in the neighboring state of Negeri Sembilan and 100 cases in Putrajaya.
Johor recorded 791 new cases while 371 cases were found in Penang.

Director General of Health Noor Hisham Abdullah said 66.1 per cent of the new cases were asymptomatic while 43.3 per cent had mild symptoms.
Those with lung infections account for 1 percent of new cases while 0.5 percent require oxygen assistance.
As many as 13 cases or 0.1 percent are critically ill and require a ventilator, said Noor Hisham.
The health ministry also announced 134 deaths, bringing the death toll to 7,574.
The number of critically ill patients has increased over the past week and there are currently 938 cases in the intensive care unit, with 459 requiring respiratory support.

Malaysia, which has imposed a nationwide lockdown since June 1, 2021, hits record high cases Covid-19 just last week, July 15, 2021, with 13,215 cases.
Until Thursday, Malaysia have reported a total of 964,918 cases Covid-19, of which 142,051 were active or contagious.
