Malaysia Prints a Record 17,000 Covid-19 Cases Today

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Malaysia again recorded a record addition of cases of transmission of the corona outbreak (Covid-19) as many as 17,045 cases today, Sunday (25/7), surpassing yesterday’s 15,902 cases.

Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the daily case recapitulation this time brought Malaysia’s cumulative total to 1,013,438 cases.

“Selangor recorded 8,500 new cases today, while Kuala Lumpur and Kedah remain the second and third highest cases recorded per country with 2,045 and 1,216 cases, respectively,” Noor said as quoted by MalayMail, Sunday (25/7).

Malaysia is currently experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases. In fact, this country has since some time ago decided to carry out regional tightening.

Meanwhile, the handling of the pandemic in the neighboring country is considered unsatisfactory for some groups of its citizens. A convoy of black-flagged cars has also been held to demand that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin resign because he is deemed to have failed to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Malay Mail previously said the convoy of vehicles had been seen on roads in various parts of Malaysia since Saturday afternoon (24/7) local time.

In Kuala Lumpur, for example, about 10 cars walked together for an hour from the UOA Tower in Bangsar Utama to a number of famous locations, including Masjid Jamek, Brickfields, KL Sentral, and Jalan Syed Putra.

The conditions in Malaysia are the same as several other countries in Asia that are still trying to suppress the transmission of the epidemic, including in Indonesia.
