Malaysia Is Angry That Chinese Ships Have Entered The Sea

KUALA LUMPUR Malaysia angry after the ships China enter its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in South China Sea disputed.

The local Foreign Ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador on Monday (4/10/2021).

“Kuala Lumpur summoned Chinese Ambassador Ouyang Yujing to convey Malaysia’s position and protest against the presence and activity of Chinese vessels, including survey vessels, in the Malaysian Exclusive Economic Zone,” Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. AFP, Tuesday (5/10/2021).

The ministry accused China of violating local and international laws with its ships’ presence off the coast of the states of Sabah and Sarawak, on the Malaysian part of the island of Borneo.

Malaysia’s protest against China over the issue is the second time this year.

In June, Malaysia deployed fighter jets to intercept 16 Chinese military aircraft that emerged from Borneo over the South China Sea, where it has overlapping territorial claims with Beijing.

Malaysia accused China of violating its sovereignty, while Beijing said the flight was routine training.
