COACH of Malaysian origin, Raja Isa, insulted the action Ronaldo Kwateh together Indonesian National Team U-23 from SEA Games 2021. The tactician who has handled a number of Indonesian clubs said Ronaldo Kwateh had no mentality when defending the Garuda Muda squad in this multievent event.
The U-23 Indonesian national team lost 0-3 to the U-23 Vietnam national team in the inaugural match of Group A of the 2021 SEA Games at the San Van Dong Viet Tri Stadium, Friday 6 May 2022 evening WIB. The three winning goals for The Golden Star – the nickname of the Vietnam national team – were scored by Nguyen Tien Linh at minute 53′, Do Hung Dung (73′) and Le Van Do (87′).

In that match, Ronaldo Kwateh appeared less than satisfactory. On 61 minutes, the Madura United winger was immediately replaced by Marselino Ferdinand 20 minutes later.
“Mentally, he (Ronaldo Kwateh) doesn’t seem ready to play at the SEA Games level. So it’s only natural that coach Shin Tae-yong pulls Ronaldo out,” said Raja Isa, quoted from The Thao 247, Sunday (8/5/2022) .
Even so, King Isa assessed that Ronaldo Kwateh was one of the talented players of the U-23 Indonesian National Team. His talent also received praise from the Vietnam U-23 national team coach, Park Hang-seo.
“Ronaldo is a young and talented player and has been praised by coach Park Hang Seo,” explained the former coach of Persipura Jayapura, PSMS Medan, Persijap Jepara and others.
Furthermore, Indonesian National Team U-23 will face Timor Leste U-23 on Tuesday 10 May 2022 at 19.00 WIB. Victory in the match will be important to open the opportunity for the U-23 Indonesian National Team to qualify for the 2021 SEA Games semifinals.
In the future, only group winners and runners-up will be allowed to qualify for the 2021 SEA Games semifinals. So, will it? Ronaldo Kwateh will contribute and silence the critics when the U-23 Indonesian national team faces Timor Leste, the Philippines and Myanmar in the remaining three group stage matches?
