Malayali Players Help Attard Eduks Kings FC in Malta Football League

Thiruvananthapuram: In the third division football league in the European island nation of Malta, Attard Eduks Kings FC came close to winning the title thanks to the strength of the Malayali players. Arrard is currently in first place. This is the team’s first season. Attard will be crowned league champions if they can at least draw against second-placed Aschow Volvos in the final match on May 20, while the already-secured second-placed side will be promoted to the second division even if they fail to win the title.

King’s Kerala Arts and Sports Association was formed in 2016 by a group of Malayalees who came to Malta for work and business. Christo Thomas, Akshay Antony, Shibu Varghese, Vineesh Thilakan, Sharaf Ali (Eranakulam), Muhammad Sharil, Shuhaib Pangadan, Ashiq Ahmed, Shirjo Jose (Malappuram), Alvin Varghese, Jesto Johnson (Thrissur), Gautham Priyan (Kannur), Sanjay Sambasivan (Alappuzha), Krishin Babu (Idukki), Anuraj (Pathanamthitta) and Shefin Shahar (Thiruvananthapuram) are the other Malayalis in the team.
