Malayalam News – Tsunami fund scam similar controversy in Muslim Youth League; Member of the National Committee of the Youth League with the allegation | Allegation similar to Tsunami fund scam being raised in Muslim Youth League | News18 Kerala, Kerala Latest Malayalam News

Similar controversy over tsunami fund scam in Muslim Youth League. A member of the National Committee of the Youth League has come forward with the allegation. The latest controversy is that some of the National Officers of the Muslim Youth League have misappropriated around Rs 1 crore raised to help the families of Katwa and Unnao girls victims and to ensure legal protection. The allegation was made by Yusuf Patanilam, a former national committee member of the Youth League.

On Friday, April 20, 2018, a one-day fundraiser was organized by the Muslim League in the mosques of Kerala. In addition, Yusuf alleges that large sums of money were raised from abroad, but that the leadership was unwilling to present the figures to the committees.

State General Secretary P.K. Feroz, C.K. Yusuf Battlefield was accused of focusing on Zubair. P.K. Unnao diverted Rs 15 lakh from the fund, saying he was in debt for the 2019 youth trip led by Feroz. When the check of Rs 10 lakh given to Rohit Vemula’s family was returned, Rs 5 lakh was diverted from the Katwa fund.

A member of the Moore National Committee has leveled serious allegations against the Muslim Youth League, alleging that not a single rupee from the fund disbursed in 2018 was transferred to the Katwa girl’s family. Hyder Ali, the national vice-president of the Youth League, who questioned the incident, said their son, Muinali, had tried to expel them from the party and humiliate them.

Sabir Ghafar, the national president of the Youth League, resigned after the National Committee questioned the financial irregularities and demanded that full details of the fund be disclosed.

Similar irregularities have now taken place in Gujarat, the Tsunami and the Rohingya refugee fund scams. There should be an investigation at the government level against financial irregularities. If the allegation is false, the Youth League should be prepared to release the bank information. Yusuf Patanilam said he would lodge a complaint with the vigilance over the incident and that the league leadership was protecting the accused leaders.

As a member of the National Executive Committee, he and his fellow members repeatedly asked questions on the committees but did not receive a clear answer. The leadership is defending the accused leaders. Yusuf Patanilam said that there was an attitude of expulsion after questioning the incident.

The attitude of the National Vice President of the Youth League, Moinali, was partly in favor of the allegation of Yusuf Battlefield. There is no clear calculation of the amount collected. The subject was presented to the committee several times. Even the treasurer does not know the accounts. The matter was reported directly to PK Kunhalikutty. The party leadership demanded that the figures be presented but no action was taken. The former national president was not satisfied with the issue.

I do not know how the money was spent. The leadership must give a clear answer to that. However, the Youth League has taken a proactive approach towards the questioners. K. “Feroz has no role to play,” he told News18.
