Malang City COVID-19 Task Force asks residents to be aware of “happy hypoxia”

Malang, East Java (ANTARA) – The Malang City COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that residents of Malang City, East Java, were asked to watch out for symptoms. happy hypoxia, or silent hypoxemia in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Spokesperson for the Malang City COVID-19 Handling Task Force Dr. Husnul Muarif said that, until now there have been no cases. happy hypoxia in Malang City, however, his party still asked residents to be aware of this condition.

“So far there has been no case, hopefully it will not happen because the mobility of Malang City residents is also high. For this reason, people must also be vigilant,” said Husnul, in Malang City, East Java, Saturday.

Husnul explained, happy hypoxia is a condition of lack of oxygen levels in the blood but is not accompanied by any complaints or symptoms for patients who have been confirmed positive for the Corona virus.

In some cases, the patient appears to be fine and slightly short of breath, even though the oxygen saturation level is 70-80 percent. Symptoms hypoxia only felt after the patient had severe pneumonia.

In the case of positive confirmation of COVID-19, continued Husnul, patients have several categories, ranging from mild, moderate, severe to critical symptoms. Generally, COVID-19 patients have symptoms of pneumonia or pneumonia.

Husnul added, patients with happy hypoxia can stay active as usual. However, suddenly someone’s oxygen demand will be hampered, due to exposure to the corona virus.

“The lack of oxygen is one of the things caused by exposure to COVID-19,” said Husnul.

Meanwhile, cases of COVID-19 with pneumonia can be detected because of the symptoms felt by the patient. Some of the symptoms of pneumonia include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chest pain when inhaling or coughing, decreased appetite, weakness, increased heart rate.

“If there is clear pneumonia complaints, there are symptoms in the respiratory tract, that must be it,” added Husnul.

Even though until now there have been no cases in Malang happy hypoxia that appeared, continued Husnul, but people were asked to remain vigilant. Malang City Government continues to remind Malang City residents to continue implementing health protocols.

To date, in Malang City there have been 1,590 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of the total, 144 people were reported dead, 1,048 people were declared cured, and the rest were still being treated.
