Germany’s long jump Olympic champion and world champion Malaika Mihambo (30) is a regular guest at the largest indoor meeting in the world and the newly crowned German indoor champion shows her skills once again, winning with 6.95 m. Season’s best! Already her fifth success in Berlin. Second place goes to Annik Kälin (Switzerland/6.75 m).

Mihambo: “It was crazy again here at ISTAF Indoor. It was so much fun jumping in the full hall. You felt supported and an energetic atmosphere was created, which helped us a lot. I am very satisfied and have achieved my goal. I wanted to jump the season’s best and I succeeded. The consistency is there now. I’ll take that with me into the summer.”
This time at her favorite meeting, she is initially surprised by a new landing stage.
This was extended to 49 meters for her closest competitor Larissa Iapichino (third with 6.75 m) from Italy. Mihambo: “I don’t need such a long run-up, mine is only 40 meters. The 2022 discus world champion, Kreistian Ceh (Slovenia), set a new meeting record with 65.62 m. The men’s team won the discus competition with 28:22 points against the women.
