Makniūnai market was full of everything again

At the March luggage market in Makniūnai, Alytus district, everything was full and abundant again. Although the cold wind bit their noses fiercely, all those who came spared each other smiles and, of course, money.

“How good it is to boast that so many traders have sprung up with the first sprouted boba and at our spring trunk market!” Even 60! – the organizer Dalė Baranauskienė was happy with the success of the event. – We can barely fit, but everyone is cheerful, energetic and full of energy.” Traders from all over the world brought a wide variety of goods, from the oldest household items, music equipment that has been out of use for a long time, records to, of course, meat and dairy products to fill the stomach!

“First of all, I buy bread crumbs, bread rolls, I like them the most. And when you keep in such shape, even a cold, strong wind is not scary, it won’t carry me away,” the bloated woman joked cheerfully.

Well, two men with long beards, who had not seen each other for a long time, after exchanging fish and meat products, praised the market and said that many rural communities could organize such markets. After all, meeting and chatting is good and useful for everyone.

And here Evelina and Edvina were still selling a lot of good old new electrical goods for one euro each! “The most important thing for us is that people take home a trunk full of things and a good mood from this market”, as the married couple always cheerfully and loudly described their trade.

And the three female chefs poked from the shoulder as always. “We again have a wide assortment: fish, pearl barley soup with lamb meatballs. There was also cabbage pie, but apparently because of the hangovers, this one ran out first,” the women described the menu with wide smiles.

Although the people I met were rubbing their noses, which had turned blue from the cold, they unanimously said that it didn’t matter at all. There was, is and will be something to come here to Makniūnis for. Well, the next Makniūnai flea market is planned to be held on April 14. Mark this date in advance and don’t forget to come!
