In an interview with Radio Darmstadt’s Hannes Marb, the president of Makkabi Germany, Alon Meyer, explains the tradition and history behind the term “Makkabi”. We learn a lot about cosmopolitanism and basic democratic principles of the many clubs in Germany, but also around the world. Not surprisingly, in addition to basketball or Krav Maga, they also offer swimming lessons for Muslim women, because Makkabi’s message is very clear: we invite you to play sports together and accept each other as you are!
