What is necessary for digital learning to work in schools? Due to the corona pandemic, this question is burning even more under the nails of education politicians, parents and students.
A frequently made thesis is: The corona virus acts like a burning glass for known problems. This seems to be particularly true in education policy, because in Germany there has been discussion about a higher level of digitization for years. However, in many schools there is still a lack of appropriate devices and Internet access, the possibilities and level of education are very different among teachers and students.
Forum Digitized Education on two days
What can schools look like in the digital world? Why is that even useful? And where is it going well? The Forum Digitization Education has been dealing with these and other questions for several years. On Thursday and Friday, actors from politics, science and civil society will meet and discuss solutions – digitally this year, of course.
“We need a great political and ultimately societal effort to make our schools fit for the digital age,” said Nils Weichert, Managing Director of the Forum last year. Little has changed in this requirement.
“It is not enough to support educational institutions in setting up digital infrastructures and equipping them with devices; schools need new teaching concepts and teachers need the right advanced training offers.”
