Makin Panas! Xi Jinping ‘Down the Mountain’ Warns Taiwan

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President China Xi Jinping spoke out loud about ‘unification Taiwan‘. In fact, he emphasized that it would certainly be realized.

The Chinese leader’s comments come as tensions between Beijing and Taipei have escalated in the past week. Previously, China sent 150 fighter jets to storm the air defense identification zone (ADIZ), the largest in the history of the conflict between the two.

“The complete reunification of our country will and can be realized,” Xi said AFP, Sunday (10/10/2021).

Xi also warned of foreign interference in Taiwan. As is known, a number of Western countries do support Taiwan.

The Pentagon confirmed that the United States (US) has been training Taiwan troops specifically for months. The French delegation visited Taiwan this week.

“Taiwan matters are purely China’s internal affairs and do not allow external interference,” he said.

“No one should underestimate the resolute resolution, strong will and formidable capacity of the Chinese people to defend their national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.

China considers Taiwan part of its province. But Formosa refused it.

“Taiwan’s independence is a major obstacle to the reunification of the homeland and a serious hidden danger,” Xi added.

“Those who forget their origins, betray the homeland, or divide the country have never found a good end, and will inevitably be rejected by the people and judged by history.”

Earlier, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen gave a stern warning to China. In a statement published Tuesday (5/10/2021), Tsai said China would bear the heavy consequences and Taiwan would fight back.

“We vow to do whatever is necessary to keep Taiwan from being threatened,” Tsai said in a statement.

Taiwan’s defense minister said military tensions with China were now at their highest. He even said an invasion could be carried out by Beijing in total by 2025.
