After a bumpy start, things really got going
As a teenager, Mario Novembre dreamed of a big career like many of his peers. However, taking part in a casting show brought a rude awakening. He tried three times to get at least one spot on “The Voice Kids”. It was a crash landing, but today Mario Novembre says: “I have grown a lot from this failure.” The then 14-year-old took his career into his own hands, put his songs on YouTube and very quickly gained a large fan base. At first he didn’t really understand it himself, the singer admitted on SWR Kultur on Saturday afternoon.

Grades mean nothing to him
The artist has not received any classical music training. He taught himself guitar and piano. He writes his songs purely by ear. The great thing about music, says Mario Novembre: “There is no right or wrong.” His recently released pieces “Energy” and “Italiano” tell of his roots. On the one hand, he is totally Italian, but somehow also completely German, says the singer, who was born in Leonberg near Stuttgart.
