Civic engagement is also required in the second year of the Corona crisis: Many people have a greater need for help, but at the same time distance requirements and mask requirements make this help and contact particularly difficult. Commitment and new ideas are required. The corona crisis also shows the opportunities for digital volunteer work. Video conferences, for example, open up new opportunities for people with disabilities or disabilities to participate in society, in rural areas or with family responsibilities, and should not be limited to the time of the crisis. Good ideas and the experience of a new cohesion can be impulses for the future. We can all now gain experience and learn what remains important after Corona.
About the action
The sign campaign will therefore continue in times of the Corona crisis – in a corresponding form. We will report on exemplary initiatives in the newspapers of the Main-Post media group and on the mainpost.de website. The articles appear from spring to autumn. A jury will meet digitally and prizes will be awarded in an event that can be followed on the Internet. You can apply until September 30th.
Four sponsorship prizes will be announced in 2021 as part of the campaign setting signals. With this campaign, the award givers pay tribute to exemplary civic engagement.
These prizes are up for grabs
The 1st sponsorship award is 3000 euros. It has been donated by the Fürstlich Castell’sche Bank since 2004.
There are also prizes to be won from Main-Post with 1000 euros and from Lernwerk Volkersberg with 500 euros.
The Evangelical Lutheran Dean’s Office in Würzburg is participating in the campaign with a sponsorship award of 1000 euros.
Who can participate
The initiatives come from a wide variety of areas: There are social campaigns such as visiting services, homework help and boards, but also cultural campaigns and commitment that help to preserve rural communities as living space.
Take part! Apply for the sponsorship award 2021. In addition, every citizen can suggest people or groups who contribute important things to the common good in Lower Franconia and the neighboring Main-Tauber district.
