The “Make a Wish” Foundation joins the world to celebrate Mental Health Day, which has been approved by the World Health Organization on October 10 every year.
The Foundation said that celebrating this day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of mental health for sick children, along with physical treatment.
Hani Al-Zubaidi, CEO of the Foundation, said: “World Mental Health Day is extremely important for the Foundation, as we see with our own eyes the deep relationship between psychological well-being and the healing path of children struggling with critical illnesses. Wishes are not just moments of joy, but they bring hope, strength, and psychological resilience that are essential to everyone.”
He said: “For many children facing life-threatening illnesses, uncertainty about the future can be a heavy psychological burden, so the wish-fulfillment experiences we assignment to each child according to their dream giving them a ray of hope that will help them. they deal with anxiety, fear and stress, and for this reason we understand that “Taking care of children’s mental health is no less important than taking care of their bodies.”
He continued: “On this day, we celebrate our renewed commitment to granting wishes that change children’s lives and bring them joy, psychological healing and strength at the same time. Through our efforts together with hospitals, government and private institutions and companies, we will ensure their mental health and give them the courage to continue their struggle and achieve their dreams.”
