MAK Jazz Festival: A Night of Music in Marktredwitz

The city center of Marktredwitz became a music mile again on Friday evening. At the second edition of “MAK Jazz” a wide variety of sounds resounded through the market. Five bands created a great atmosphere at five different locations: “Katie-Finest Pubmusic” took their listeners on a musical journey to Dublin on Dammstrasse. In Seebergerstrasse, “SelbControl” performed songs by Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and Udo Lindenberg. The “Keller-Band” played cult pop hits in front of the Theresienkirche. Then it got jazzy on Pfarrgasse with the band “Taktikum”. Finally, in the eastern market area, the “Blue Jazz” formation took hold of the keys and strings. The musicians from Bamberg and Nuremberg brought swing, blues, Latin jazz and hard bop to Marktredwitz. Even if the smallest part of the charming festival only consisted of jazz – actually the event should have been called “MAK Music” – the visitors of the city center enjoyed the music to the fullest. Due to the proximity of the gigs to cafés, pubs, bars and ice cream parlors, it was wonderful to stroll and enjoy.
