LOS ANGELES, July 17 (Xinhua) — More than half of the U.S. population currently lives in high-risk areas of COVID-19, and they are recommended to wear a mask in indoor public places, according to a daily report. American Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
About 35% of U.S. counties, representing 54% of the population, have a “high community level of COVID-19,” the article notes, citing data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This represents a 14.8% increase from the previous week.
When a county reaches a high risk level, the CDC recommends wearing a mask in indoor public places and on public transportation in an attempt to limit the spread of the virus.
