Two out of three respondents indicate that they do not feel like making a toast from behind the screen. But there is a great need to come together, according to the researchers. 56 percent of those surveyed say they think it is important to see and speak to colleagues informally at the end of the year. However, almost half of employers have no Christmas celebration in the pipeline this year, where this was otherwise the case.
According to LinkedIn, many companies are struggling with the question of how to celebrate Christmas in the office this year. “Of course there are alternatives”, Liza Jansen of LinkedIn notes. “We see a lot of providers of pub quizzes and other games that you can play with colleagues.”
Many organizations skip the Christmas drink for a year and show their appreciation for the efforts made in the past year by sending a drink or Christmas package. Almost half of employers are trying to give it a creative twist this year in order to still be able to celebrate Christmas with colleagues.
