In a letter sent this Wednesday, November 15 to Florence Debussy, vice-president of the Regional Council in charge of high schools, Pierre Guillaumin, LFI regional advisor for Montluçon, is concerned about the “major water damage” that occurred Monday, November 13 within the grounds of the Madame-de-Staël high school in Montluçon.
As revealed our colleagues from RJFM radio, the establishment’s 270 boarders were forced to return home after the flood which affected the building housing the boarding school and which threatened electrical installations. Flooding following a major water leak on a pipe located behind the school building.
At the start of the afternoon of November 15, we still do not know whether the interns will be able to return to their rooms this evening. But the probability seems low, according to people contacted on site.
A list of works
In his letter addressed to the regional vice-president, Pierre Guillaumin requests an evaluation of the work and interventions necessary to be carried out in high schools. Affirming that “other problems have arisen in recent months” within the LEM of Montluçon.
Last January, classes were suspended for two days after a pipe burst which led to the flooding of several classrooms.
