Major Trees Removal Operation at Lelystad Station to Begin Next Week

Trees around the station in Lelystad will be removed at night next week. This will happen along the Middenweg between 9:30 PM and 5:00 AM.

The trees are being removed because the station area is being completely overhauled.

The late time was chosen because the road is very busy during the day. According to the municipality, by carrying out the work in the evening and at night, the nuisance will be limited.

What will the station area look like?
The Middenweg, which runs past the coffee shop, will soon be closer to the railway. A bus lane will be built where the motorway is now located.

Healthy trees that are suitable for being moved will be given a place in the new area, the municipality said.

Take a detour
The work will take place from Wednesday March 6 to Friday March 8. The road will then be of limited use for residents and traffic to and from the Zilverparkgarage and the Reaalhof. You can only drive on the Middenweg from Ziekenhuisweg/Middendreef (south side). There are traffic controllers to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Buses and emergency services can continue to travel on the road in both directions. Cyclists and pedestrians can also continue to use the Middenweg.
