Major Traffic Accident on A9 Motorway Between Agde and Béziers – Update: A9 Motorway Reopens at 5:30 a.m.

A major traffic accident took place last night between Agde and Béziers on the A9 motorway, in the direction Montpellier – Narbonne.

A collision between a heavy goods vehicle and three other vehicles occurred around 3:15 a.m. on the night of Saturday to Sunday April 14 at the Béziers – Montblanc rest area, between Agde and Béziers.

Several injured, some in absolute emergency

Emergency services are currently on site. The importance of the accident necessitated the cutting of the A9 motorway towards Narbonne. Many relief SDIS 34 are mobilized. A medical team is on site to treat the victims. The gendarmerie and the Vinci Autoroutes motorway services are also on site. Several injured people are in a state of absolute emergency.

Significant slowdowns are expected in the surrounding area. Users are encouraged to take alternative routes. Obligatory exit at Agde 34 and follow the S19 / RD 613, a route suitable for heavy goods vehicles. Entry A9 access prohibited in Agde.
