In the TV24 program “Actual about the war in Ukraine”, Major Jānis Slaidiņš of the National Armed Forces explains the situation in Ukraine: “Putin spoke at the extended meeting of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, where he clearly and clearly said that Russia is not going to abandon the goals of the special military operation. The Russians have the initiative and Russian air defense is the best in the world.”

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated that the Russian army is the best prepared army in the world and has no analogues. Shoigu emphasized that Russia has fulfilled all military objectives in the special operation area. “Although no one has really said what the Russians’ goals are at the moment. How far to go? What to take?” says Slaidins.
What the Russian side has said so far is to occupy the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansak regions. “Until then, they have to go and go,” Jānis Slaidiņš is critical.
Next year, Russia plans to increase its armed forces to 1.5 million. “Given what they’re willing to pay now, and the money is pretty big, what they’re offering. Then from the poorest districts of Russia, I assume, there will be queues. Therefore, they can also not announce the second wave of mobilization. But I think they will announce as soon as the elections are over in March.”
