The police has released twenty detectives who are fully focused on a rape case in a park in Rotterdam. There, a woman was abused by two men at the beginning of this month.
The 20-year-old woman from Rotterdam was running at the Zuiderpark around 5.30 pm when she was forced by the men to go into the bushes. There she was detained and raped.
After the men ran off, the woman called a friend. He called in the police. A passer-by and officers caught the victim.
‘Social impact’
The police have put a large team on the case because of the social impact of the rape, a police spokesman said. “We want to prevent people from being afraid of running in the Zuiderpark and to prevent the perpetrators from striking again.”
Detectives investigated the site of the abuse tonight. “It is certainly not a remote area and people pass by regularly,” said the spokesman. Also, according to her, it was still very light at the time of the abuse.
