“Major Rear-End Collision in Fäsenstaub Tunnel Causes Traffic Obstructions and Injuries”

On Friday afternoon at 4.20 p.m. there was a rear-end collision between four vehicles in the Fäsenstaub tunnel in the direction of Winterthur. Seven of the eight people involved were injured and had to be taken to the cantonal hospital in Schaffhausen and the hospital in Singen to be checked by the ambulance. There was some major damage to the vehicles.

The Fäsenstaub tunnel had to be closed for rescue and clean-up work. This resulted in massive traffic obstructions in the city of Schaffhausen and in Feuerthalen ZH.

In addition to the Schaffhausen police, several ambulance teams from the rescue services of the hospitals in Schaffhausen and the German Red Cross, the fire brigade of the city of Schaffhausen, civil engineering in Schaffhausen and a private towing service were deployed.

The course of the accident is now being investigated by the Schaffhausen police.
