Major raid in Bremen and Lower Saxony – six arrests – dpa

Bremerhaven / Bremen (dpa) – With several hundred forces, the police searched more than 15 buildings in Bremen, Bremerhaven and Lower Saxony.

The police in Bremen announced that six pre-trial detention orders were also carried out. The suspects are said to come from Bremen and Bremerhaven, the police initially did not give details about them. Special units from other federal states, the federal police and customs were also in action.

In the early morning, the investigators reportedly confiscated weapons, ammunition, several cars, including a Porsche Cayenne and a Volvo XC60, various e-bikes and several kilograms of drugs. A man threw three kilograms of drugs out of the window when he saw the emergency services arrive. The investigators discovered another two kilos of marijuana in his apartment. During the searches, assets of more than two million euros should be secured.

The searches and arrests are reported to be in connection with five proceedings by the Bremen public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of import smuggling and trafficking in drugs and weapons. In addition, violations of the War Weapons Control Act are being investigated. The investigations were directed against several people residing in Bremen and Bremerhaven.
