Major preparations at the Vélodrome for the Soprano show

The Marseille artist is in concert at the Vélodrome stadium on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June. He will sing his latest album “Chasseur d’étoiles” released in September 2021.

After two years of health crisis, concerts follow one another all over France to the delight of fans. After the rapper Jul, the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille welcomes the singer Soprano this weekend, for two days of “amazing show”.

The singer of “Cosmopolitanie“will sing his last album”star hunterreleased in September 2021. On this occasion, the Vélodrome is being transformed to give Soprano fans a starry dream.

A spaceship as a stage

To do this, the technicians transform the scene into a landing strip.

“We make a little analogy of a spaceship that has just landed, with a central part and the feet that land on the side. It’s a round scene in the center that will stretch on four axes on the sides , 30-35 meters each, which will make it possible to bring the artist to each corner of the stadium and to bring him close to the public”, explains technical director Aymeric Sorriaux at the microphone of BFM Marseille Provence.

Nearly 200 people have been working for several days at the Vélodrome stadium to ensure that the stage is ready in time, and above all to meet the expectations of the Marseille artist.

Proximity to his fans

The former singer of Psy 4 de la Rime saw things big for his return to his favorite stadium. This time, he wants to be closer to his fans.

“The concerts we had done before at the stadium, I found that people saw me from too far away. I said to myself, I’m going to do it in the center and suddenly it will allow me to be everywhere”, says Soprano .

Settings that will require a lot of effort for the 43-year-old singer. “The only problem for me is that it’s very physical. There’s a whole set that moves, lights, images, screens, there’s a story, guests… We worked a lot so that people enjoy themselves and be happy”, he concludes.

5 concerts at the Vélodrome in less than 5 years

Soprano is the only French artist to have performed in concert five times at the Stade Vélodrome, in less than five years. Fans can go to the Vélodrome from 6 p.m. this Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters invites spectators to come early.

It also calls for favoring public transport to access the stadium properly.
