Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Discusses Changes and Predicts Future of War

Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Tregubov said that in almost two years the war has changed a lot, and in another six months new changes await us.

In war, everything changes very dynamically. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Russians attacked us in columns, and ours set up ambushes and eliminated the enemy in the forests of the Kiev region. And it was rather a “mosquito” tactic. Then big breakthroughs followed, the Ukrainian Armed Forces squeezed the Russians out of Kharkov and Kherson, where they had weak points. Today, the battlefield is very saturated on both sides, and a real front line has been outlined – long and full-fledged, which previously we could only mention in the context of the Second World War.

In today’s conditions, it is much more difficult for both sides to attack, but, on the other hand, the army is developing very dynamically in technical terms, and various types of drones are coming to the fore, both aviation and naval. And this has greatly changed the picture of the fight compared to 2022. Although Bayraktars and reconnaissance UAVs were also actively used at that time, it was not so systematic.

“Drones have changed everything and war looks new. I think in another six months it will look new again, which is why I say that it is difficult to make any predictions now. The same thing happened in World War II. Remember the planes at the beginning of World War II and the planes at the end, which were already jets. Technological progress is very fast.” – noted the expert.
