A large-scale malfunction at the iDEAL payment platform has been resolved. On Friday night, the service was hit with issues, causing payments from users across the country to fail. A spokesperson for the payment service confirms this to NU.nl.
The problems started around 6:00 PM, after which they were resolved a little before 7:00 PM. According to the spokesperson, it was a “fairly significant outage at an important junction.”
Although all banks were affected, some payments were still processed during the trouble. It is unclear exactly how many customers were affected.
The time also meant that complaints poured in at meal delivery companies such as Deliveroo and Thuisbezorgd. Customers were temporarily unable to pay for their orders there, unless they chose another payment option.
