Axios quoted two well-informed sources as saying that Saudi Arabia, the UAE, America and India hope to announce a major joint infrastructure agreement at the G20 summit linking the Gulf states and Arab countries through a railway network.

She said that the railway network expected to be announced will be linked to India through the shipping lanes from the ports of the region.

Two sources familiar with the plan said in a report published by “Axios” and viewed by “Al Arabiya Net”: “The project is one of the main initiatives in the Middle East.

The joint rail project is expected to be one of the major deliverables to be presented during the G20 Summit in New Delhi this weekend.

The White House declined to comment. And in a previous statement reviewing Biden’s trip, he included that he would participate on Saturday in the “Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment event.”

A US official involved in the talks said work on the declaration is still ongoing and is not yet final.

If the four countries conclude negotiations in the next two days, their leaders will sign a memorandum of understanding outlining the parameters of the project.

The project is expected to link the Arab countries in the Levant and the Gulf through a network of railways, which will also be linked to India through sea ports in the Gulf.
