Major General Fouad Abdel Halim, the former Assistant Minister of Defense, revealed the truth about what was circulated on social media during the past hours regarding his intention to run in the upcoming presidential elections.
Major General Fouad Abdel Halim: I do not have accounts on social networking sites
In his statements to Cairo 24, Fouad denied having personal accounts on any of the social networking sites, stressing that he had not assigned anyone to manage pages in his name on these sites.
Major General Fouad Abdel Halim said that he does not have electronic accounts and does not manage personal accounts on social media.
He confirmed that he would submit a report to the official authorities against those who impersonated his page and created an account in his name on social media, to take legal measures to deter the impersonator of his page.
On the other hand, engineer Hazem Omar, the potential presidential candidate, revealed Republican People’s PartyThe most important axes of his presidential program, especially with regard to the economic situation, saying: I will be honest with the people, as we need 3 years during which we implement fundamental and structural reforms, through an economic reform program that depends in part on austerity for a period of 3 years, and rationalization of government spending.
During an interview with Cairo 24, Hazem Omar added: But at the same time, we will work from the first year to control inflation and external and internal public debt rates, tighten monetary policies and discipline in new monetary issuances, and restructure the burdens of citizens in order to relieve pressure on the middle class and protect it from erosion. Supporting the weak and low-income classes, and lifting some of the tax burdens off their shoulders during that period.
