Major General Anne-Cécile Ortemann has been the new director of the Defense Digital Agency for several weeks. Created in 2021, the Defense Digital Agency (AND) aims to develop the management of digital projects at the Ministry of Defense. The people of Thionvillois remember GDI Ortemann since she commanded the 40th Signal Regiment between 2013 and 2015.
General Ortemann commanded the 40th RT between 2013 and 2015.
She was then at the head of 850 men and women. She was then in charge of cyber and digital transformation missions at the Army headquarters, then she took the position of deputy director at the Defense Information and Communication Delegation. This graduate of the Saint-Cyr special military school, third general in the French Army, joined the brand new Defense Digital Agency as deputy director in 2021. Officer of the Legion of Honor and officer of the National Order of Merit, the general returned to Thionville in June 2021 on the occasion of the departure ceremony of Colonel Maire and the arrival of Colonel Kaufmann, as corps commander of the 40th.
