Major fraud case: three Utrecht residents suspected of defrauding health insurer for 1.7 million | Utrecht

The trio from Utrecht were arrested by the police today. The police raided a house in the Utrecht district of Lunetten early Tuesday morning. There, officers found the three suspects. The woman is suspected of fraud, money laundering and forgery. The two men have been arrested for money laundering.

The trio are alleged to have committed insurance fraud by deliberately deceiving a health insurer and taking advantage of it themselves. It is not yet known exactly how they did that.

Luxury items that officers found in the home were also seized. Police said the raid early this morning was “the result of a long-running police investigation.” They also do not rule out the possibility that more arrests will follow in this major fraud case.
