This judicial measure was the result of the investigation carried out throughout this year by the Fiscal Delegation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Complex Crimes Agency carried out by virtue of the numerous complaints that users and consumers file every day due to lack of knowledge of credit card consumption.
As a result of the investigation carried out, it was possible to unravel this recent criminal form of fraud, where it was revealed that A group of employees of a business in the center of the capital illegally took over the personal data of customers’ credit cards and then provided them to other subjects to make online purchases and pay public services fraudulently with the themselves.
As a result of the measures carried out, a significant amount of documentation was seized, such as notes, manuscripts, invoices, cell phones, computers, notebooks, among other evidence of interest.
With this evidence, it will be possible to clarify a large part of the complaints due to ignorance of consumption on debit/debit cards that were filed throughout this year.
At the present stage of the investigation, six people are being prosecuted for the crime of fraud with the use of credit cards.
