On the Bastide, right bank, the Quai des Queyries at the intersection with Allée Serr is invaded by water. Opposite, at the Ponton Burdigala, the Garonne begins to reach the road.

A few meters further on, towards the L’Estacade restaurant, the road is completely flooded. Same thing on rue Jean-Paul-Alaux, where access to several businesses – including “Sud Ouest” – is difficult. The water also prevents access to the Nuyens school, near the botanical garden. These floods are causing major traffic jams in this part of the Bastide.

Bordeaux city officials clear manhole covers in order to speed up the emptying of flooded streets. Here on Quai des Queyries, when the flood has started to recede, we are starting to remove the vehicles if possible. @SO_Bordeaux pic.twitter.com/IF0cuoAHk6

The day before, the City of Bordeaux had decided to review traffic on both banks. Until Tuesday 6 a.m., it is impossible to travel on rue Sem on the right bank. Diversions from Quai Deschamps towards Rue de la Benauge and Quai des Queyries towards Allée Serr are planned. Furthermore, reservation no. 2 on Allée Serr will exceptionally become a parking space.
For pedestrians and cyclists, several lanes have also been closed at the platform level since 6 a.m. this Monday: between the skatepark and the Chaban-Delmas bridge on the left bank, and between the city stadiums and the L’Estacade restaurant on the right bank.

In Libourne too, residents have their feet in the water. The Dordogne came out of its bed, notably on the Quai du Priourat, this Monday morning. The quays are also flooded at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Isle.

Throughout the department, several roads are closed to traffic. In Libourne, the RD21 is closed at the commune of Fieu: a crossing slab weakened by flooded ditches has collapsed. A diversion via the RD10 and the RD21e1 has been put in place.
In the Médoc, the RDE4 is flooded at Pauillac and therefore impossible to access. The RD2 is also closed between Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and Cussac, due to the overflow of the canal at the Pont de l’Archevêque (diversion via the RD1215), as well as between Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac and Saint-Christoly -Médoc (diversion via the port of Goulée and the port of By).
Also note, the RD115 is submerged between Portets and Langoiran. The Langoiran bridge is closed, the crossing is via the Béguey-Podensac bridge, the RD10/RD13 and the RD1113.
“Due to a risk of flooding”, departmental road 108, or Chemin de la Caminasse, between Villenave-d’Ornon and Cadaujac, will be closed to traffic for the night from 6:30 p.m. this Monday 11 March. A precaution taken “at the request of the firefighters” which has nothing to do with the rupture of a dike on the boundary of the two municipalities. “There is no danger for the population, but it risks affecting people”, we indicate at the town hall of Villenave-d’Ornon, the road being very busy especially at lunch time. hiring and debauchery. The departmental road closes at Chemin de Guiteronde, which marks the administrative boundary between the two municipalities. Advance signage will be installed at Place de Courréjean. The situation will be re-examined on Tuesday “late morning”.
