A large fire has broken out at Barcelonaplein on the KNSM island. Photos show that the fire is causing a large cloud of smoke. The fire brigade is on site with several units. The homes in the top three floors of the building have been evacuated.

The fire started around 12:20 p.m. in a house on the top floor of an apartment complex. The smoke development has since decreased. The fire service said the fire is not yet under control.
Two people inhaled smoke and were checked by paramedics. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
